Introduction
A .drp file is a project exported from Blackmagic Design’s
DaVinci Resolve.
Resolve does not normally keep projects as separate files: it stores them in a project
library, a database on disk or on a server. Exporting a project from the Project Manager
writes a single .drp file, which can be backed up, sent to someone else
and imported into another library.
The file holds the edit, the colour grades, the Fusion and Fairlight work and the
project settings, but not the media. It refers to the media files by their paths, so
they must be relinked if they are in a different place on the other computer. To move
a project together with its media, Resolve offers an export as a project archive
(.dra) instead.
Structure
The layout of the file is not published by Blackmagic Design and changes between versions of Resolve. A project exported from a newer version cannot always be imported into an older one.
