Project events describe the whole project rather than one channel or pattern. Each appears once, and can sit anywhere in the stream.

Reading the version first
The FL Studio version (199) is stored in ASCII, while every other string is UTF-16LE.
Reading it first confirms which version saved the file, and so which playlist record
size to expect. Releases are named by year, and the major number is the two-digit
year: version strings starting 26, such as 26.1.6.5639, belong to this
format. Later versions are read the same way until one is known to differ. The
version matters more here than in older files, because a playlist items event can
have a length that fits both the 80-byte records of FL Studio 2024 and 2025 and the
88-byte records of this format. See
Events for the details.
Licensee
Image-Line’s “New features” page for FL Studio 2026 says that “the License Plate rather than User Name will be saved in project files”. The licensee event (200) is where earlier versions save the registered user’s name, so it is probably the event that now holds the License Plate. That is this site’s inference: no source has confirmed which event holds it.
Timestamp
The timestamp event holds two 64-bit little-endian floating point numbers, both counted in days.
| Offset | Size | Type | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 8 | f64 | created | When the project was created, in days since 30 December 1899. The fraction is the time of day. |
| 8 | 8 | f64 | time_spent | How long the project has been open for editing, in days. |
