Instruments in the channel rack and effects in mixer slots are plugins. Plugin events follow the channel or the slot that holds the plugin and describe that plugin.
Events
| ID | Size class | Name | Holds |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0x80 (128) | Dword | Plugin colour | The colour shown for the plugin. |
| 0x9B (155) | Dword | Plugin icon | The icon shown for the plugin. |
| 0xC9 (201) | Text | Plugin internal name | The plugin’s own name, which says which plugin this is. A third-party plugin is loaded through FL Studio’s wrapper, and its internal name names the wrapper. |
| 0xCB (203) | Text | Plugin name | The name shown to the user. Used for slots from FL Studio 3.3. |
| 0xD4 (212) | Data | Plugin wrapper | Settings of the wrapper that hosts the plugin, as a block of binary data. |
| 0xD5 (213) | Data | Plugin state | The plugin’s saved state, from FL Studio 1.6.5. Its layout belongs to the plugin. |
Plugin state
The plugin state event is the plugin’s own data. For FL Studio’s built-in plugins it is a layout chosen by Image-Line. For a third-party plugin it holds the wrapper’s data, which in turn carries the plugin’s saved state. A reader that does not know a plugin can keep its state as it is and write it back unchanged.
